The Territory 2030 Steering Committee was brought together in November 2008 to help guide the development of Territory 2030 – fresh ideas, real results – the Territory’s 20-year strategy.
The Steering Committee’s co-chairs – community services advocate Vicki O’Halloran and Bill Moss, who brings 33 years’ finance and banking experience – along with six other members have worked hard over the last six months to develop the draft Territory 2030 Strategy.
The co-chairs also sit on the Territory 2030 Sub-Committee of Cabinet. Other members of the Sub-Committee are the Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister and Treasurer, the Minister for Indigenous Affairs and the Chief Executive of the Department of the Chief Minister. This is the first time in Territory history that non-Parliamentarians sit on a Cabinet Sub-Committee.
The Territory 2030 Steering Committee’s charter has been to shepherd the development of the Territory 2030 Strategy. This includes:
The draft strategy was prepared, incorporating Territorians’ feedback. The Steering Committee took the document out to Territorians via community meetings and forums in an two-month community consultation program to further identify and prioritise targets for the Territory and seek feedback and input from Territorians. The draft now incorporates feedback from the consultation phase and the Steering Committee has finalised its report in readiness to deliver to Government.
